To President Elect Obama from the Opposition
President Elect Obama on behalf of the 46% of Americans who opposed your candidacy, we offer no congratulation or “hope” for unity. Instead, we look anxiously to 2010 and 2012 to re-establish traditional American values and democratic principles that have been diminished by your candidacy. First and foremost we are unapologetic in our opposition to your leftist ideology and ultra-partisan political agenda. We refuse to accept that you were elected in spite of your poor credentials and the many unanswered questions regarding your work ethic, judgment and character. You can never earn our confidence or support because we are less than inspired by your oratory and “rhetorical abilities” which have been exceedingly divisive and polarizing. Your campaign has validated the irrational fears of many well intentioned but misguided Americans who now feel justified in the view that our government is non-inclusive and racist. In truth, based upon the Democratic Party’s agenda and what little is known about your voting record, intolerance and partisanship has been your guiding principle not the Bush administrations.
Sarah Palin is correct that you have disqualified yourself from the Presidency based upon your socialist leanings, radical associations, anti-military and anti-capitalist agenda. For such an unaccomplished individual you are indeed “audacious” to suggest that a two-term President has “failed policies” when you have no measurable executive experience.
As conservative Americans, we find your personal story uninteresting and largely disingenuous because we cannot reconcile your obvious elitist upbringing with the “humble” background” you have campaigned upon. Can you honestly equate your Honolulu born, privately schooled, Ivy League educated pedigree with that of average middle-class Americans? We also vehemently disagree with your views on abortion and same-sex marriage as well as education. Since when did incorporating “social justice” into education become a national imperative? Moreover, we have the right to oppose you vigorously without being labeled negative, racists or otherwise “unenlightened” especially by your proxies in the liberal, mainstream media.
On the subject of “spreading the wealth around,” there’s no debate to be waged because it’s simply not your wealth to redistribute. Therefore, your plea for unification in America will never be realized until you acknowledge this “failed policy” and denounce any plan for increased taxation. What value system gives you the right to cap the profits of Oil Companies and CEO’s but allow Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffet and Bill Gates to be billionaires? In the same way, dishonestly, you have not drawn the parallel of “windfall profits” and “excessive pay” to your peers in government and academia. Why are universities like Harvard allowed to mass billion-dollar endowments while sheltering under preferred tax statuses such as the 501C? Why can people such as President Clinton then earn millions of dollars from these institutions to give speeches? “Spreading the wealth around” is more that just a contemptible form of class warfare because you seek to punish hard work, sacrifice and good judgment while rewarding the opposite. To that end, “wealth redistribution” is a crime against humanity. Ultimately, to borrow from G.W. Bush, “you are not the decider.” This is not Chicago-style politics where there’s no opposition to the Democratic machine. On the national level, working people will not stand by passively while you impose tax increases.
So be advised President Elect Obama that unlike your campaign, you will soon be measured and held accountable for your judgment, character and more importantly results by 100% of the electorate including: conservatives, pro-life families, capitalists, heterosexuals/married couples, traditional Christians, veterans, non-union workers, gun owners and Americans who believe in companies like Wal-Mart because we rely on them for jobs, goods and services. Despite your rhetoric and promises, 46% of the electorate is well aware that politicians, academics, entertainers and lawyers only create jobs and wealth for themselves not us.
